What is Glucose?

Glucose is fundamental to how we make energy in the body.  You only have about a teaspoon of sugar in your bloodstream, and your body is carefully engineered to keep it that way.  It changes constantly based on what you eat, when you eat and how often you eat.

Why Track Glucose?

How our bodies process and metabolize food varies from person to person. Your glucose response can reveal a lot about your metabolic health. Like any other measurement in the body – such as heart rate or blood pressure – there’s an ideal range for blood glucose levels that supports your optimal health.  This ideal range is unique to you and affected by many factors.

How Do I Track My Glucose?

The best tool for understanding how well you can tolerate carbohydrates is a continuous glucose monitor (CGM).This wearable device gives you the power to make smart food choices and end the guessing game of “what should I eat?”

About Larlkyn

Hi, I’m Larlkyn. I’m an engineer turned nutritionist. In 2008, I went to my doctor complaining of excessive thirst and frequent urination. My bloodwork revealed that I was pre-diabetic. At the time, I had no idea. Following the conventional food guide, I thought I was eating pretty healthy. I avoided all fats and doubled down on grains and starches. Nothing changed. I still felt something wasn’t right. I was sluggish after meals, hangry every 2 hours, slept poorly and got sick easily. In 2010, I left my engineering job to study nutrition. I needed to solve this problem for myself. Now, I help others solve theirs by being their guide.
